Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American actor and singer, began by releasing a humorous rap track dealing with issues related to sexuality and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood following the release of a series of raps. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. In college, she concentrated on her studies, and then took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. Apart from having published a book as well, she also worked singing. In addition to early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap.
